Here’s the 5th report in a series by ifilm, on the popular talk show ‘The Gathering’, aired by the channel; this time the program hosts Niyousha Zeyghami, whom you might recall from ‘In the Eye of the Storm’, a popular series aired on ifilm.
Asked about having a bodyguard, Zeyghami noted that the photo in which a lady resembles a bodyguard on the actress’s side, she laughed and said there’s also more to the rumor, in which some people said that woman had married Mehran Modiri’s bodyguard; though both are not true. She noted that she’d gone somewhere for a film screening, when a female security officer from the complex had accompanied her, and it caused all the rumor.
Here’s excerpts from the talk.
When asked about being a mother-to-be, Zeyghami smiled, and paused. She then noted that she was expecting a baby, when the host, Mehran Modiri, wished her and her expected child, as well as her husband, health and well being.
The actress also talked about Iranian directors, saying Mohammad Hossein Latifi and Masoud Jafari Jozani were among the top. She said her debut goes back to 14 years ago, when she played a role in ‘In the Eye of the storm; so far, she has played in 38 movies.
Zeyghami said when she entered cinema, she was so lonely, but that with help from God, she was able to arrive at the current position. She also said she didn’t like to occupy anyone’s position, though she would always feel glad after each instance of success.
Referring to her first role in cinema, she said it was with ‘The Record is Equal to the Document’ directed by Masoud Jafari Jozani; now she gets most of her offers from the cinema industry.
Pointing out that she was a candidate for a crystal Simorgh from the Fajr Film Festival, for ‘Frenzied’ and ‘Hidden Feeling’, she explained how she had changed her choices and approach to acting, and pinpointed a continued effort to develop the quality of her works.
Born in 1980, Zeyghami has appeared in several movies, including ‘The Juggler’ (2004), ‘The Confrontation’ (2004), ‘My Sin’ (2006), ‘Hidden Feeling’ (2006), ‘Parkway’ (2006), ‘The Outcasts’ (2006), ‘Forced Blessing’ (2007), ‘The Outcasts 2’ (2008), ‘Extreme Cold’ (2009), ‘Mirror and Candlestick’ (2012) and ‘Iran Burger’ (2014).
